Bloomberg UTV, India’s premier business news channel and the Aegis School of Business hosted the “Aegis Graham Bell Awards 2011” recently.This awards ceremony acknowledged and honoured the outstanding contributions of the entrepreneurs and companies in India in the field of TIME (Telecom, Internet, Media, Edutainment). Sachin Pilot, Minister of State for Communications and IT, gave away the awards to the winners of “Aegis Graham Bell Awards 2011”.Commenting on the event, Deepak Lamba, business head, Bloomberg UTV said, “For the upward spiral of the Indian economy, we believe that it is imperative to recognise the best amongst the stalwarts across various industrial sectors. Sharing this common vision, a special jury comprising some of the best professionals in India joined hands with us to create the most comprehensive, authentic and exhaustive platform to honour the performers and the emerging stars of the Indian IT and Telecom industry.” The selection process of the Aegis Graham Bell Awards 2011 winners was based on various parameters like innovativeness, market potential, social potential, sustainability, interoperability through a detailed methodology, reliable process validation and research conducted by Price Waterhouse Coopers.The jury comprised some prominent names from India’s leading IT and Telecom industry. Jury members included Chandan Sonowal, (director, Aegis Bangalore, Former Director Microsoft), Rajan Mathews, (director general (COAI)), Amol Masurkar, (principal consultant, PwC), Satyen Gupta (member of committee for PM Address Allocation Policy, Govt of India), Subho Ray, (president, IAMAI), Dr Manish Gupta (innovation head, IBM) among several others.The awards ceremony will be telecast exclusively on Bloomberg UTV on August 6 at 4 pm and August 7 at 7.30 pm.
