MADURAI: The District Collector of Madurai was directed by the Madurai Bench of the High Court on Thursday to explain why he arbitrarily issued a notice to Union Minister M K Alagiri and members of his family to present themselves before him on Friday in connection with the Dhaya Engineering College issue.Dhaya Engineering College owned by Alagiri and his family is located at Sivarakottai near Thirumangalam. The college had taken action to enroll students this year.Meanwhile, a farmer from Madurai had lodged a complaint with the Collector that the college authorities had encroached upon an irrigation tank and damaged the outflow channels.
