THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala University’s former Registrar K A Hashim has claimed that the report of the inquiry into the allegations that he had manipulated his biodata was prepared without giving him a proper hearing. Hashim was reacting to the City Express report published on Monday that the one-member inquiry committee of Kerala University Pro Vice-Chancellor J Prabhash which inquired into the allegations that the former Registrar had manipulated his biodata had found that there were discrepancies in certain entries in it. He said that the normal procedure was to hear the version of the accused also before finalising the report. This procedure was not followed. Hashim said that till date, he has not received a copy of the report. ‘’I have no idea of the content of the report. Hence, I am not sure whether the report was in favour or against me,’’ he said. Some vested interests were behind the circulation of the report. This was to ensure that he was denied the career offer he had received recently, Hashim said. The biodata was submitted along with the project proposals sent to various funding agencies while he was the Registrar of the university. The inquiry was ordered by the university on October 25, 2010 on the basis of an adjournment motion moved on August 20, 2010 by K L Vivekanandan.
