Kochi contractors threaten strike

KOCHI: The Kochi Corporation Contractors Association has threatened to launch an agitation against the Corporation for not clearing their pending bills worth Rs 24 crore. The association has presented the matter before the Finance Minister and the Local Self-government Minister. The contractors said that 90 per cent of the 200 contractors were financially weak and were facing  action from financial institutions from where they had mobilised funds to execute the works. The contractors association claimed that the contractors had cleared all pending works and stood top in the state in executing works on time.
