Handwriting in letters provides vital clue to police..

MADURAI: The Koodankulam police have arrested a man from Kovilpatti for bomb threat letters to KKNPP. The arrest was made after his handwriting matched with that found in letters during an analysis at the Forensic Science Laboratory in here on Saturday. The KKNPP administration had received a bomb threat letter in which it was stated two workers were handed over the task of planting bombs at KKNPP on May 21.  The letter was signed off as Tirunelveli Pothunala Kuzhu (Tirunelveli Public Welfare Committee).Similarly, two letters were addressed to a contract worker. The letters, which  carried a postal seal of Kovilpatti, were handed over to the Koodankulam police.Based on this clue and a name referred in the letter, cops landed in Kovilpatti and interrogated several persons. They took samples of handwritings of four persons and matched them with that in  threat letters at the lab.The police sources said the handwriting matched with the handwriting of one V Irulappan (39) of Venkatachalapuram, near Kovilpatti. Based on this, the Kovilpatti police have arrested Irulappan on Saturday.   The investigations revealed that the motive behind the missives was family dispute between Irulappan and his relative employed at the KKNPP as a contract labourer.
