Manipal gangrape case: One of the accused to be produced in court

Udupi: One of the accused in the Manipal gangrape case will be produced in court on Monday. He had allegedly attempted suicide after being arrested, and was in the hospital till Sunday.

The condition of the other accused, who had also attempted suicide, continues to be serious. "The condition of Yogesh is still serious," Udupi Superintendent of Police Dr Boralingaiah said. Yogesh had consumed poison and Anand attempted to hang himself before they were nabbed.

A 22-year-old medical student was kidnapped from the Manipal University in an auto-rickshaw and allegedly gangraped by the three men on late June 20 night. The victim is recuperating in a hospital.
