Mercury touches 46.1 degree celsius in Rentachi

RENTACHINTALA (GUNTUR DIST): The highest temperature in the country this year was recorded at the Rentachintala village on Tuesday. The area recorded a searing temperature of 46.1 degree Celsius.Due to the scorching sun, people preferred to remain indoors till 7 p.m. and the village wore a deserted look. No passengers were seen in RTC buses also.The heat wave continued since morning and the humidity level in air fell to 43 per cent. The granite quarries also increase the temperature.
