HYDERABAD: Rohit Sekhar, who claims to be son of former governor of Andhra Pradesh ND Tiwari, and his mother Ujjwala Sharma gave blood samples at the Centre for DNA Fingerprinting and Diagnostics (CDFD) at Nampally here on Friday as per the Supreme Court's directive.The mother and the son spent over two hours at the forensic laboratory giving their blood samples in the presence of Delhi High Court joint registrar R.Gopalan and Tiwari’s advocate Maroof Ahmed. They brought along with them Tiwari's blood sample from Delhi for examination.The 32-year-old Rohit, claiming to be son of 88-year-old Tiwari, filed a paternity suit in the Delhi High Court in 2008 seeking declaration of the former governor as his biological father. The court directed the CDFD in Hyderabad to conduct tests on Tiwari's blood samples to ascertain Rohit Sekhar's claim. When Tiwari appealed to the Supreme Court, it rejected his plea on May 24 that he was too old to give a sample of his blood. With no option, Tiwari gave his blood sample in Delhi on May 29 in the presence of district judge Raj Krishna and other officials.has said that he will continue his legal battle till he gets justice in the paternity suit he filed against the 88-year-old leader.Talking with Express later, Rohit said, “My mother Ujjwala Sharma, Delhi High Court joint registrar R.Gopalan and Tiwari’s advocate Maroof Ahmed and I handed over a sealed cover containing three FTA kits with blood samples of Tiwari, Ujjwala and me. We also submitted a copy of the apex court’s directions to lab officials.''The DNA test would be carried out under the supervision of CDFD director Dr J.Gowrishankar and it would take at least four weeks to get the report but the Supreme Court asked the CDFD to send the report as soon as possible, Rohit said and declared that he would continue his legal battle against Tiwari till he got justice.
