HYDERABAD: Mayor Banda Karthika Reddy on Thursday appealed to the public not to throw garbage and plastic material into nalas, as they are responsible for obstructing free flow of water and causing inundation in several low-lying areas.The mayor along with corporators Kalpana Yadav and C Sunitha visited several areas to inspect works of desilting nalas. At Ramnagar bridge, Karthika Reddy instructed workers to desilt again with the crane and provide fencing at Gangaputra Colony at request of local residents.On finding lots of debris along the road near Parsigutta graveyard she asked officials to remove them immediately. At Lower Tank Bund in Goshala, she along with corporators Raj Kumar (Kavadiguda), Mohd Wajid Hussain (Bholakpur) urged workers to take up desilting works again and complete the work of retaining the wall gap.At request of local residents, the mayor also instructed officials to take plantation driving along the road. At Amberpet bus stop Junction, she said nala-widening should be taken up to improve free flow of water.
