THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: States should be included in the loop with regard to the activities of the new National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC). Kerala has suggested to the Centre that the state should be informed about search and arrests made within the state, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy told the Assembly on Thursday. He said that the state had made its stand clear with regard to the NCTC and suggested certain amendments at a meeting convened by the Centre on March 12.In forming NCTC, the Centre has set the condition that state should hand over details regarding terrorist activities to the NCTC. Kerala has suggested that the information flow should be two-way so that states too can combat terror better, Chandy said.A third suggestion made by the state is that the NCTC should function directly under the Union Home Ministry, he said. While the State Government did not entertain the view that NCTC would encroach upon the powers of the state, the state thinks there should be clarity in its activities, he said.
