BANGALORE: A 70 year old woman died and an 11monthold baby sustained minor injuries after a portion of a wall collapsed on them. The incident was reported at Kempegowda Layout near Gangenahalli in R T Nagar police station limits on Monday afternoon.
The deceased has been identified as Muniyamma and her grandson Dhanush was injured in the incident. Muniyamma was working as a sweeper at a private hospital near her house. According to the police, on Monday afternoon, Muniyamma took Dhanush and went to her daughter's house. When she was sitting outside the house, a portion of the wall collapsed on them. Muniyamma died on the spot while Dhanush, who sustained minor injuries, was shifted to a hospital.

Some of the residents of the area alleged that the sewage water from the BBMP public toilet, which is adjacent to the house, had damaged the wall and this had led to the wall collapse. They also accused a person of encroaching upon a storm water drain and claimed that he had built about 30 houses and rented them out.
