Mumbai: Actor-turned-MP Govinda's elder brother Kirti Ahuja was booked on charges of rioting after a group of Govinda supporters led by Kirti Ahuja allegedly damaged the office of TV channel Janmat in suburban Oshiwara.
A female reporter of the channel had charged the star with assault on Wednesday night.
Kirti and ten others have been booked on the charge of rioting and intimidation, although no arrests have been made so far, said DCP Amitabh Gupta.
According to Gupta, Kirti had gone to the TV channel office at Oshiwara on Thursday afternoon following Wednesday night's incident, in which a lady reporter of the TV channel filed a complaint of assault against Govinda and claimed two tapes, on which an interview of the star was recorded, were snatched by him.
One of the persons accompanying Kirti later pelted stones at the TV channel's office, DCP Gupta said, adding the channel authorities noticed the damage after the group had left the premises.
