Malegaon: A police constable, from Nashik district's Manmad, presently attached to the Chhavani police station here was arrested on Sunday for allegedly raping a 28-year-old lady home guard, after luring her with a promise that he would marry her, the police said on Sunday.
Constable Revnath Karbhari Garud, who is married, started an affair with her an year ago, after which he took to his house or hotel and raped her, the police said.
The home guard lodged a complaint of rape at the Malegaon police station, after which he was arrested, the police said.
