HYDERABAD: A day after grilling home minister Sabita Indra Reddy in connection with the Jagan Mohan Reddy illegal assets case, the CBI on Saturday summoned two more ministers to answer its questions. They are: J Geeta Reddy, who was industry minister in the Y S Rajasekhara Reddy regime, and Ponnala Lakshmaiah, the then major irrigation minister. The two are among six ministers who were earlier issued notices by the Supreme Court on 26 GOs that were passed during YSR’s regime and which allegedly favoured business deals of the Kadapa MP. The CBI is likely to grill Lakshmaiah in connection with the GO that release water to India Cements from the Krishna river. Geeta Reddy is likely to be questioned for the GO she issued that gave permission to Gali Janardhan Reddy to set up Brahmani Steels in Kadapa. Earlier, the CBI had summoned minister Mopidevi Venkataramana, asking him to answer queries on May 21 in connection with Jagan case. The Supreme Court had earlier issued notices to six ministers and eight IAS officers on a plea alleging that the CBI was not proceeding against them despite having evidenc that they helped Jagan in accumulating massive assets.
