BANGALORE: "Energy consumption gap between morning and night in Bangalore is the highest in the entire world. The consumption is 3700MW in the morning, and it drops to 1800MW in the night" P Manivannan, managing director, Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM) said.
Speaking at the International conference on smart grid organized by Central Power Research Institute (CPRI) and Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM), he underlined that the electricity supply company has to grapple with this problem. Smart grid is expected to manage the demand and supply of power. He further called upon the participants to look into the behavior of consumers and those involved in supply of power.
