Srilankan Navy attacked us: Fishermen

NAGAPATTINAM: Four fishermen from Arucottuthurai have complained that they were threatened at gun point by the Lankan Navy on Thursday.On September 14, four fishermen - Kumar, Gopi, Karthik and Kannan ventured into the sea in a boat from Arucottuthurai. On Thursday, when they were fishing 15 knots South East of Kodiakarai, two crafts of Lankan Navy arrived there. Wielding guns, they asked them to pour the diesel stock kept in the boats to sea, throw the catch and destroy the fishing nets. A complaint was later filed with the fisheries department.
