BANGALORE: University’s Jnana Bharathi campus was forced into a bundh on Friday as members of Postgraduate and PhD Students Association (PPSA) staged a protest against the attack on fact-finding team members KS Shivaramu and DR.More than 300 postgraduate students staged a protest around 10.30 am, forcing closure of all departments, disrupting classes for nearly 3 hours.“Made Snana is an uncivilized practice. It is inhuman to roll over leftover food of the Brahmins. We demand the arrest of the rowdy priests at Kukke Subrahmanya for the assault on Shivaramu and Vijayakumar,” said , president of PPSA G Govindaiah KS Shivaramu, state president of Karnataka State Hindulida Vargagala Jagrutha Vedike and Bangalore district president D R Vijayakumar were roughed up by a mob on Wednesday.The members wanted to go inside the temple to view the ritual for their fact-finding report, to be presented to the government and also for the December 4 discussion in Mysore.BU Registrar Dr B C Mylarappa reached the campus and met the protesting members. He received the memorandum from PPSA.The memorandum urged the government to immediately ban Made Snana and arrest the perpetrators.
