THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Supplyco would begin Christmas-New Year fairs from December 19 to 31 at Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur and Kozhikode. The state-level inauguration of these fairs would be held on December 19 at Putharikandam Maidan, here. The fairs would be inaugurated by Chief Minister Oommen Chandy at a function to be presided over by Civil Supplies Minister Shibu Baby John. The first sale would be done by Mayor K Chandrika.People’s bazaar and supermarkets would function as Christmas markets. Consumers would also get exciting prizes as part of the fair. For a purchase worth Rs 1,000, a consumer would get Shabari products worth Rs 50. A statement from the Supplyco said that all necessary steps were taken this season to prevent shortage of goods and products.
