MADURAI: Tamil Nadu police, on Tuesday issued a notice to MDMK leader Vaiko cautioning him of section 144 that has been clamped at Uthammapalayam Taluk due to tension in border areas over Mullaiperiyar dam row.The notice was issued as Vaiko was planning to organise economic blockade against Kerala on Wednesday at Lower Camp, which falls under Uthammapalayam Taluk. South Zone, IGP Rajesh Das explained in the notice that section 144 was clamped to maintain peace in the region. He requested Vaiko to avoid organising meeting.Meanwhile, leaders of MDMK in border areas are organising people to participate in the economic blockade protest in Cumbum, Gudular and Lower Camp areas on Wednesday. Village leaders were seen mobilising the people, using loud speakers, to participate with their families in the economic blockade protest.On the other hand, the police have intensified security arrangements to maintain peace during the protest. Police also have decided to stop the people near Gudalur. No one will be allowed to march towards Kerala border.
