THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A Vigilance team led by Habeeb Rahman, SP, Kozhikode, questioned Opposition Lader V S Achuthanandan at hisofficial residence here on Tuesday in connection with the alleged out-of-the-way allotment of land to one of his relatives when he was the Chief Minister. The questioning was related to the allotment of about 2.30 acres of land in Kasargod to an ex-service man, T K Soman, a relative of Achuthanandan. The Vigilance and Anti Corruption Bureau (VACB) had sent a letter to Achuthanandan earlier this month seeking a convenient date for the questioning. The Opposition Leader, in his reply, sought a questionnaire and preferred to send a written response. However, the VACB insisted that a face to face questioning was essential. Later, the Opposition Leader gave the VACBteam a date. Kunhiraman, Vigilance DySP, Kasargod, who had investigated the case, was also part of the team.
