Vayala Vasudevan Pillai passes away

KOCHI: Theatre personality Vayala Vasudevan Pillai, 67, passed away here on Monday after a prolonged illness. He leaves behind his wife Valsala.Pillai was undergoing treatment for cancer for the past few months and the end came at 2 pm at a private hospital here.He was associated with School of Drama in Thrissur under Calicut University for over two decades and retired as its director in 2005.  Pillai was earlier Professor of English at Mar Ivanios College, Thiruvananthapuram.The cremation will be  held at Cheruthurthy on Tuesday.
