THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition Leader V S Achuthanandan has criticised the CPM Politburo on the Mullaperiyar issue saying that the stand taken by the Politburo has not reflected the sentiments of the people living in a panic situation in the aftermath of recurring tremors near the dam site.He told a news conference here on Friday that the Politburo’s statement did not reflect the Kerala’s feeling.He asked the Politburo to take a stance supportive of the people’s sentiments. VS pointed out that the Politburo had taken a stand that Tamil Nadu could continue to claim water from the dam and the Supreme Court should consider the anxiety of Kerala over the 116-year-old dam. But the statement does not reflect the people’s feeling, he said.Coming down heavily on the State Government, the Opposition Leader asked whether the Oommen Chandy Government had any moral right to continue in power when it’s Advocate General filed an affidavit against state’s interest.
