CHENNAI: A 25-year-old history-sheeter was hacked to death at Seven Wells on Sunday. Previous enmity is suspected to be the reason. Sources said the victim Janakiraman, a resident of Kondithope, had more than 10 cases including murder, against him. He was booked under the Goondas Act on Jan 26 and was released on bail on April 6. He had been involved in a drunken brawl the same day. On Sunday at around 3 pm, Janakiraman was walking along a lane near his house with his friends, when three men attacked him with knives. The victim, who suffered serious head injuries, died on the plaint, alleging that the cop trespassed into his house in an inebriated condition at Thuraipakkam area on Saturday.Police sources said Rajasekhar (35) a constable attached to Thuraipakkam Station, reported for duty on Saturday. Around 2.30 pm, he started on his beat and, entering a house in Saravana Nagar, dozed off. After several efforts to wake him went in vain, the house owner Isaki Raja (22) lodged a verbal complaint at the station, alleging that the constable had trespassed into his house in an inebriated condition.When a police team went to the house in search of Rajasekhar, they found that he had absconded. Deputy Commissioner (Adyar) Sudhakar has ordered a suspension of the constable, the sources said.Boy Drowned A 16-year-old boy, G Vijay Kumar, drowned while playinb in a lake at Peerkankaranai on Saturday.
