#5YearsOfSalmanOnTwitter: 5 things you probably didn't know about Salman Khan's Twitter habits

New Delhi: Salman Khan, one of the three big Khans of Bollywood, might have fewer Twitter followers than the other two but that is no indication of his stature at the box office. Today, April 13, 2015, @BeingSalmanKhan completes 5 years of Twitter presence.

It shouldn't come as a surprise that #5YearsOfSalmanOnTwitter is the top trend on Twitter in India.

It was five years ago that Salman sent out his first tweets. The first being "Arbaaz ne kaha ke tweet kar toh banta hai boss."

Since that tweet on April 13, 2010 the Bollywood superstar has tweeted at least 41,515 times at an impressive average of 22 tweets a day.

We analysed a sample of of Salman's tweets to find a little more about Bhai's tweeting habits.

Five highlights from what we learnt:

1. Bhai tweets the most at around midnight

2. Bhai isn't a hashtag addict. He uses hashtags in fewer than 10% of the posts we analysed.

3. Bhai likes to attach media to his tweets - 1 out of 4 tweets have some media linked.

4. Bhai links out the most to Instagram. Where he has 503K followers.

5. Bhai is most likely an active BlackBerry user with 65% of his tweets being posted from a BlackBerry device, while he has also been frequently noticed using Twitter Web and very occasionally from a Windows Phone and an Android device. We didn't come across an iOS app in our sample.
