The 76th Primetime Emmy Awards are just around the corner and all eyes are on this year’s nominees. Official nominations have already been announced for the much-awaited award ceremony and it reportedly includes several potential awards for the much-loved Apple TV+ drama series Lessons in Chemistry. Brie Larson, the lead actress of the show is among the nominees and she has been nominated for Best Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie.
Upon learning the news, Larson couldn’t resist but share her reaction to the show’s recognition by the Television Academy. She took to her Instagram Stories and shared a photo of herself and the other cast members of Lessons in Chemistry from a birthday celebration they had for her during the shoot. Larson also shared a heartfelt message in which she thanked the Television Academy for honouring the show along with how honoured she has been to have become a part of the project.
“I am trying to find the words, but this thank you just feels so big. Thank you to the Television Academy for recognising the talent, drive and passion of our Lessons in Chemistry team. To see so many departments lifted up is the greatest feeling. I am honoured to say that I witnessed the most amazing people do the most amazing things. I am humbled by the world Bonnie Garmus and Elizabeth Zott has opened my heart to. And I am thrilled beyond belief that we get this chance to toast and eat together one last time. I’m the happiest woman in the universe,” Larson wrote in her post.

For the Best Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie, Larson will be competing against Jodie Foster who is also nominated in the same category for playing Liz Danvers in True Detective: Night Country. Apart from them, Juno Temple for playing Dot Lyon in Fargo, Sofia Vergara for playing Griselda Blanco in Griselda and Naomi Watts who played Babe Paley in Feud: Capote vs. The Swans are also up for the award.
Among the other cast of Lessons in Chemistry, Lewis Pullman is up for Outstanding Supporting Actor and Aja Noami King has been nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress. The drama series has also been nominated for Outstanding Limited or Anthology series. It competes against Baby Reindeer, Fargo, Ripley and True Detective: Night Country.
The Apple TV+ miniseries premiered in October 2023. Directed by Lee Eisenberg, it is based on a novel by Bonnie Garmus. Brie Larson plays a character named Elizabeth Zott. Zott is a chemist and takes the help of a 1960s cooking TV show to teach housewives about chemistry.
The series also has Lewis Pullman, Aja Naomi King, Stephanie Koenig and Patrick Walker in key roles.
