Madhur Bhandarkar's films always show the realistic side of glamour. Be it 'Chandni Bar', 'Page 3', or 'Fashion', his films have always been hard hitting and reveal a dark side that is unknown to others.
His latest,'Calendar Girls' features five new faces- Akanksha Puri, Avani Modi, Kyra Dutt, Ruhi Singh and Satarupa Pyne, as models who feature in country's most coveted swimsuit calendar. Based on real life incidents, Bhandarkar tries to explore back story of these models who put everything on stake to make it big in the glamour world.
The film also features Suhel Seth, Rohit Roy and Indraniel Sengupta in supporting roles. While Bhandarkar's films are entertaining, he has in the recent past been accused of being repetitive.
