Challenging roles satisfy me as an actor, says Gaurav Gera

New Delhi: When a sassy customer comes in front of the screen saying ‘shopkeeper’ the world goes rolling on the floor laughing their brains out. Gaurav Gera, popularly known as Chukti, is the mind behind the viral videos of ‘shopkeeper’.

A popular TV actor and standup comedian, Gaurav, started his career in Television with the popular drama ‘Jassi Jaisi Koi Nai’. The character of ‘innocent’ and ‘nerdy’ nandu in the show made him a household name. His biggest break came in with ‘Mrs. Pammi Pyarelal’ where he played the role of a man who dresses like a woman to fool his land lords. This character opened gates for a more prominent and popular role of ‘Chutki’ and now an equally famous customer.

Talking about his transition from a geek Nandu to a sexy female customer Gaurav says, “I have always looked forward to do challenging roles, this satisfy me as an actor. When I decided to do Nandu, I was young and new, so the innocence came naturally. With time as learned and grew in the industry, it motivated me to do something different and thus, Chutki came into being. The exposure has been great for me and I love every part that I have done so far as it made me grow as an actor and as an individual.”
