Actor Ram Pothineni has been gearing up for the release of iSmart Shankar’s sequel, titled Double iSmart. The film is written and directed by Puri Jagannadh. Apart from Ram Pothineni, the sequel stars Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt in the lead role. Ram Pothineni is expected to play a double role in the film. The teaser of the highly anticipated Double iSmart has arrived and it indicates that the film is set to impress the audience with its high-octane action sequences. The teaser was released on the occasion of Ram Pothineni’s birthday. The actor turned 36 on May 15. Double iSmart is slated to release worldwide in theatres on June 14. It is a pan India movie that will be released in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam languages.

The 86-second teaser begins with Shankar’s (Ram Pothineni) carefree and mischievous behaviour. Hinting at his character look from its predecessor, the film was expected to be another action-banger. This time Puri Jagannadh has pitted the action star against the raging bull, Sanjay Dutt in the film. The two are seen locking horns with each other through high-octane action sequences. The punchy dialogues of Ram Pothineni and Sanjay Dutt’s strong presence are expected to be the highlight of the film. Double iSmart is expected to be grander and better than its prequel. It is jointly produced by Puri Jagannadh and Charmy Kaur under the banner of Puri Connects. The film also stars Kavya Thapar, Sayaji Shinde, Bani J, Ali Basha and Makarand Deshpande. Ali Basha is expected to play the comic role of a don.

The cinematography of the film is jointly executed by Gianni and Shyam K Naidu. The editing is handled by Karthika Srinivas. The music is composed by Mani Sharma. The film was initially scheduled to release on the occasion of Maha Shivratri on March 8. It was later postponed for undisclosed reasons.

The sequel which is touted to have an unconnected storyline but similar characters is finally arriving in theatres after five years of iSmart Shankar. The predecessor was released in 2019.
