Heeramandi marks Sanjay Leela Bhansali's web series debut. Here's how much he reportedly charged for the Netflix show.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s debut web series ‘Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar’ is set to release on May 1. The show, set to stream on Netflix, stars Manisha Koirala, Sonakshi Sinha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Richa Chadha, Sharmin Segal and Sanjeeda Sheikh in the lead. The series also features Fardeen Khan, Shekhar Suman, Adhyayan Suman and Taha Shah Badussha. While the Heeramandi reviews by critics and fans are awaited, the show’s budget and Bhansali’s pay for the series has allegedly been revealed.

Heeramandi Budget:

Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar is an eight-episode series. The trailer have already revealed that it is a grand series with Bhansali spending money on lavish sets and costumes. If a Bollywood Hungama from 2022 is to be believed, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar has been made with a budget of a whopping Rs 200 crores.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s fees for Heeramandi:

The report has also claimed that Bhansali, best known for his grand films and blockbusters such as Devdas, Bajirao Mastani, Padmaavat and Gangubai Kathiawadi, has charged a massive fees for creating the show. It is reported that Bhansali has charged Rs 60 to Rs 65 crores.

Heeramandi cast fees:

According to Miss Malini, Sonakshi Sinha emerged as the highest-paid actress on the series. She was paid Rs 2 crore for her role. Filmibeat reported Manisha Koirala was paid Rs 1 crore, Aditi Rao Hydari earned between Rs 1 to 1.5 crores, Richa Chadha charged Rs 1 crore whereas Sanjeeda Sheikh earned Rs 40 lakhs.

The trailer was released earlier last month and it transported fans to a time when courtesans reigned as monarchs. Through the stories of courtesans and their clients, set against the turbulent backdrop of the Indian Independence struggle in the 1940s, the series investigates the cultural reality of the namesake area of Heera Mandi.
