Jigra Teaser: Ram Gopal Varma Gives Shoutout To 'Sarkarini' Alia Bhatt

Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt is back in action, taking on a challenging role in her upcoming film, Jigra. The movie’s first teaser trailer has been released, showing Alia as the ferocious sister who goes all out to rescue her imprisoned brother. The two-minute-fifty-second-long Jigra teaser has received a lot of love and praise online from fans and celebrities alike. Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma is the latest one to hail Jigra and the team.

Resharing the film’s trailer on his X handle, Varma spoke about being highly impressed. He even described Alia’s performance as ‘Sarkarini,” referring to his celebrated Sarkar films. “Just F****NG WOWWW..Hey @Vasan_Bala am bowled over with ur teaser and @aliaa08 is exuding power like a SARKARini,” he wrote.

Interestingly, Alia also has a special dialogue in the teaser, where she says, “Ab toh Bachchan hi banna hai (It’s time to become Bachchan only).”

On the other hand, many others like Janhvi Kapoor, Arjun Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor, Sharvari Wagh, Hansal Mehta, Khushi Kapoor, Amar Kaushik, Abhishek Banerjee and Rhea Kapoor also praised the teaser, further sharing it on their Instagram stories. The teaser has created a lot of buzz, building the much-expected anticipation ahead of Jigra’s theatrical release.

What Is Jigra About?

Going by the teaser, the film is believed to be a story of a sister and her love for her brother. As the video begins, Alia’s character can be seen narrating her life story, revealing that her brother (Vedang Raina) doesn’t have much time left. What follows is her fierce battle to break her brother out of the prison, who is seen being under custody with handcuffs.

Throughout the video, a rendition of the song Phoolon Ka Taaron Ka continues to play in the background, sung by Vedang Raina himself. While Alia stuns everyone as the strong-headed elder sister, a lot more is yet to be revealed about Vedang’s character and what led to his imprisonment. “Ulti ginti shuru! #JIGRA TEASER TRAILER OUT NOW! The film will hit theatres on October 11, 2024. A few posters have been also revealed, showing close-up shots of Alia Bhatt.
