Anupamaa, one of the most popular Indian soap operas on television, is headed for a 15-year generational leap. The same has been confirmed through upcoming show trailers. Although Rupali Ganguly, the lead cast of the show has been retained, most of the ensemble cast had to bid farewell to the show post-leap. After actress Chandani Bhagwanani aka Pakhi and Nidhi Sadh aka Kinjal, TV actress Nishi Saxena, known for playing Dimple quit the show. She announced her departure with a long emotional note on Instagram and shared a video montage of some of her memorable moments.
“After two fantastic years, it is time to say goodbye to Dimple. This journey has been nothing short of life-changing. From portraying many roles in one character to developing as an actor and a person, I have learned a lot along the way. This is my first big break, and I am immensely grateful for every moment. I want to thank the fantastic producer @rajan.shahi.543 @directorskutproduction @starplus and the entire crew for believing in me and making this possible,” Nishi wrote in the caption.
She continued, “Working on India’s number one TV show was almost a once-in-a-lifetime experience. From being a fan of the show to really being a part of it, I believe manifesting truly worked out.”
The actress further thanked the producer of Anupamaa, Ranjan Shahi, her co-actors and the fans for showering love and support.
“A big thanks to the editor @vintxqetv for brilliantly portraying Dimple’s journey in this video—it truly brought all of the emotions alive. Dimple will always hold a special place in my heart. On to new adventures, but this one will forever be loved,” she concluded.
Recently, the makers of Anupamaa unveiled a new promo for the show, introducing new faces like Alisha Parveen and Shivam Khajuria. The clip also introduced Anupamaa aka Rupali Ganguly as an elderly woman running her own business.
Backed by producer Ranjan Shahi’s Director’s Kut Production, the show has remained on top of the TRP charts ever since its debut in 2020. The show is an official Hindi remake of the popular Bengali series Sreemoyee.
