Sharvari Wagh's song Taras from Munjya received positive response from all corners. The actress shares Katrina Kaif's reaction in exclusive interview

Sharvari Wagh has been making headlines for her powerful performance in the horror comedy film Munjya. The film has received an overwhelming response from the audience. Especially the dance number Taras was loved by everyone. Many videos were made on this song. Well, in an exclusive interview with News18 Showsha, Sharvari revealed Katrina Kaif’s reaction to this song.

She said, “She really loved it. She really loved the song. She really love my performance in it.” Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar and featuring Sharvari, Mona Singh, Abhay Verma and Sathyaraj, the film is based on Marathi folklore. The film also stars Mona Singh in a key role. It follows the story of the eponymous mythical creature who wreaks havoc in the life of Bittu, played by Abhay. Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, Munjya — starring Abhay Verma, Sharvari Wagh and others— crossed the Rs 100 crore nett mark in India by its 6th week. The film began with earnings of around Rs 4 crore, making its achievement of Rs 100 crore a big feat.

News18 Showsha gave Munjya a 3-star rating. “Munjya beautifully draws inspiration by blending elements of horror and cultural depth to weave a story that is both enthralling and deeply rooted in Indian mythology. The movie delivers a good cinematic experience owing to its good writing and the gripping folklore. It is a clean entertainer. It has family-friendly written all over it and has all the elements of a typical commercial horror comedy. This is a must-watch for anyone interested in folklore and horror storytelling,” an excerpt from our review read.

In the same chat, Sharvari talked about her journey in Bollywood. She said, “My journey keeps me grounded and reminds me of the difficult days I’ve had, which is why I keep my feet on the ground very strongly. I’ve always waited for days like these when my work gets appreciated or even released for that matter. And now with the audience reaction I’m receiving, I think it’s a huge validation for an actor like me. It makes me feel that I must be doing something right.”

On the work front, Sharvari will be seen in Alpha. In July this year, Yash Raj Films announced it as their next project in the spy universe. The film is being directed by Shiv Rawail and stars Alia Bhatt and Sharvari as super-agents along with Bobby Deol and Anil Kapoor. It’s the first actioner to be headlined by two women in the YRF spy universe. Interestingly, it’s also one of the very few women-led action thrillers the Hindi film industry can boast of. Needless to say, there’s a whole lot of buzz and intrigue surrounding it. It marks Sharvari’s first film with Alia and is also her most expensive project till date.
