Director Prashanth Varma and actor Teja Sajja’s movie HanuMan has revolutionised the superhero genre. It proves to the world that a good superhero movie can be made on a minimal budget. With just a budget of Rs 40 crore, the film has earned close to Rs 256 crore at the box office in just 15 days of its release. Both the audiences and critics have showered praise on HanuMan, praising the story, action sequences, the VFX and the religious elements of the film. HanuMan is doing well in both the Telugu and Hindi circuits. For those of you who have not watched the film on the big screen and are waiting for its OTT debut, you will have to be patient for a little more than a month. The original OTT release date has been postponed owing to the success of the film.
Zee5 had acquired the streaming rights of HanuMan and initially it was planned to release the film within three weeks of its release. Since the movie is still going strong in the theatres, the contract has been revised. Sources suggest that the movie may debut on Zee5 on March 2. An official confirmation on the same is still awaited by fans.
Recently, during the success meet of HanuMan in Hyderabad, Teja Sajja expressed his gratitude to the audience for showering the film with love. “It is not possible to deliver good output without the efforts of the technical team, and as actors, it is our responsibility to thank them during success meets,” stated Teja Sajja. “Our art director Nagendra Garu gave the picture his all, and our DOP, Siva Garu, spent two years working on it. Gowra Hari, our music director, put in a lot of overtime for HanuMan and produced an amazing BGM. Many scenes were made more impactful by his score. I performed well since Varalaxmi Sarathkumar Garu was my co-star. Amrita Aiyer has an incredible commitment to her craft. With HanuMan, Vinay Rai Garu made an incredible comeback.” Teja Sajja also thanked producer Niranjan Reddy for believing in the team and director Prashanth Varma for dreaming big.
