With the positive reviews received by Mathu Vadalara and its sequel, director Ritesh is now looking forward to the film’s third part. He talked about it in a recent media interaction. According to him, “The third part is definitely there, but I think I will make another film and then, approach that.” The director also talked about the references he has borrowed from the other films for Mathu Vadalara 2. According to the filmmaker, they have taken references from the Bad Boys franchise and Brooklyn Nine-Nine. He added that since the buddy cop genre is also rare in Telugu, he wanted to introduce that.
Ritesh also talked about Vennela Kishore’s character and the commentary on toxic hero worship. According to him, basically, being a teenager is a very important age. He said that kids of that age have a lot of things to figure out and plan for their future. According to him, in that phase, this toxic hero worship is also like a drug. The director said that he wanted to make a commentary on that in an interesting way.
Apart from the films Mathu Vadalara and Mathu Vadalara 2, Ritesh has also written and directed the film Happy Birthday. Headlined by the actress Lavanya Tripathi, this film received positive reviews from the audience.
