It looks like the high-stakes world of Squid Game isn’t done with us just yet. If you’ve been waiting to see who will be lured into the twisted game this time, Netflix has dropped a new teaser that’s bound to reel you back in. And guess who’s back in action? None other than the mysterious Salesman, played by Gong Yoo, who is once again armed with his red and blue Ddakji tiles and that infamous smile that says, “Would you like to play a game?" Fans of the first season will remember the Salesman as the one who pulled Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) into the deadly competition with a simple game of Ddakji and a cryptic card.

He preyed on Seong Gi-hun’s desperation, pushing him into a life-or-death situation. At the end of Season 1, we saw the Salesman continuing his sinister work, looking for new victims.

Netflix has released a fresh teaser that shows the Salesman preparing for another day of recruitment. In this teaser, we find him in his apartment, going through his daily routine, showering and dressing up. In the short clip released on October 1, he also loaded up his briefcase with cash. We watch him open his vault to retrieve the blue and red envelopes, all while classical music plays in the background from his vinyl player.

Before leaving, he places a calling card, marked with the symbols of the game – circle, triangle and square – into his pocket. He headed out to a familiar subway station, the very place where he first encountered Seong Gi-hun. After riding the elevator and stepping off the train, he checks his watch, as if anticipating someone.

At 5 pm, he approaches someone off-screen and offers them the infamous red and blue envelopes, asking, “Would you like to play a game with me?" The screen then flashes with the words, “Get back in the game."

Earlier, the February teaser had also given fans a glimpse of Seong Gi-hun who now has red-dyed hair and is seen talking to someone on the phone. The caller warns him that he’ll regret his decisions, to which Seong replies, “I will find you. No matter what it takes."

The returning cast includes familiar faces like Lee Byung Hun and Wi Ha-jun, along with new additions such as Im Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Gyu-young, Jo Yu-ri, Yang Dong-geun, Park Sung-hoon, Kang Ae-sim and former BigBang member Choi Seung-hyun (T.O.P).

Squid Game centres around 456 individuals, all drowning in financial debt, who compete in a series of dangerous games for a chance to win 45.6 billion Korean won. However, only one will survive to claim the prize.

Since the premiere of its first season in October 2021, Squid Game has become a massive success for Netflix and even bagged six Emmys in 2022. The second season will premiere on Netflix on December 26.
