When Actress Rambha Was Reportedly Removed From A Film Because Of This Telugu Actor
Director EVV Satyanarayana first thought of Rambha along with actress Soundarya for a film.

Rambha was one of the most prominent actresses of Indian cinema in the 1990s and early 2000s. In a career spanning nearly two decades, Rambha acted in more than 100 films in eight languages, primarily Telugu and Tamil, but also Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam, as well as a few Bengali, Bhojpuri and English films. Did you know there was one Telugu actor who did not want Rambha in his film? He is none other than Nagarjuna. Yes, for the film Hello Brother, director EVV Satyanarayana first thought of Rambha along with actress Soundarya. When EVV Satyanarayana asked Rambha, she gave him all the dates he wanted. But Nagarjuna did not want Rambha, and instead asked for Ramya Krishna. Thus, Ramya Krishna replaced Rambha as the heroine of the film. EVV Satyanarayana did not want to disappoint Rambha and took her for a special song, Kannepettaro, in the film.

Rambha did films with all the stars of those days like Krishna, Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna, Venkatesh, Rajendra Prasad in Telugu industry, but she didn’t do a single film with Nagarjuna. This was reportedly because she got to know that she was removed from Hello Brother because of him.

Rambha gave up her education at the age of 15 and began her career with the Malayalam film Sargam (1992), directed by Hariharan, opposite Vineeth. The film did well at the box office, and director EVV Satyanarayana noticed her and cast her in the Telugu film Aa Okkati Adakku (1992), in which she starred opposite Rajendra Prasad. The film did well and earned the actress several film offers from various film industries across India.

After her marriage, she had given up films as she felt that her popularity in films had faded where she realised that she was not getting substantial roles like before. Then she judged a very popular Tamil TV show titled Maanada Mayilada and the Telugu dance show Dhee. After a long break, she came back from Toronto, appeared as a judge on the Zee Telugu dance show ABCD-Anybody Can Dance and judged Kings of Comedy Juniors on Vijay TV.
