Priyanka Chopra often grabs the spotlight with her candid statements and opinions on various topics. The actress holds unparalleled stardom in both India and the USA. Recently, at the Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival 2023, she spoke about her 2011 film 7 Khoon Maaf and revealed how an acting class with Naseeruddin Shah helped her prepare for the film. The actress also shared the invaluable advice she received from actor Pankaj Kapur.
Priyanka shared that she took Naseeruddin Shah’s acting class for about 10 days for the film. She also sought advice from Pankaj Kapur, her neighbour at the time. Priyanka said, “I asked him, ‘Can you please work with me on the script?’ He said, ‘What work do you need?’ I said, ‘Tell me what choices I should make. This is a very complex character.’ He said every answer that you need is in your script.”
Priyanka Chopra further shared that some people warned her about taking on a female-oriented film like Fashion. She revealed, “But I just didn’t know any better. I loved the script. I loved what Madhur was talking about.” The team spent six months working on the script, residing at her home in Goa the entire time.
7 Khoon Maaf is a black comedy film directed by Vishal Bhardwaj. It is an adaptation of Ruskin Bond’s short story, Susanne’s Seven Husbands. Priyanka portrayed the character of an Anglo-Indian woman. The star-studded cast also included late actor Irrfan Khan, Naseeruddin Shah, Vivaan Shah, Neil Nitin Mukesh, and Annu Kapoor. The film achieved both critical acclaim and commercial success.
Priyanka treated her Instagram followers to a glimpse of the event with some photos on her handle. She dazzled in a stunning ivory shade bodycon gown by designer Tony Ward, featuring a halter neck design that added a touch of elegance to her overall look. Complementing the gown, she wore a plain cream-colored cape. In her caption, she wrote, “Opening night. Jio Mami Mumbai Film Festival”

On the professional front, Priyanka has an exciting lineup of projects ahead. Her next venture is the action thriller film Don 3: The Final Chapter, directed by Farhan Akhtar, where she stars alongside Ranveer Singh. Additionally, she will also be part of Farhan Akhtar’s upcoming drama Jee Le Zaraa. The film also features Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif in the lead roles.
