New Delhi: In a slew of poll promises, BJP's Prime Ministerial candidate L K Advani today said if NDA is voted to power, it will make Multi-purpose National Identity Cards mandatory, provide laptops to students at Rs 10,000 and give free mobile phones to people below poverty line.

Unveiling BJP's 'IT Vision' document in New Delhi, Advani said his government would lay thrust on expanding the use of technology to make national security more robust, overcome the economic crisis, create large-scale productive employment opportunities and accelerate human development through vastly

improved and expanded education and health care services.

"A BJP-led government will create a new policy climate where we use technology mainly for India's -- I would add, Bharat's -- sustainable development," the former Deputy Prime Minister said.

Talking about security concerns, he said over two crore illegal Bangladeshis were estimated to be in India.

"The influx of illegal Bangladeshis is continuing...This is a serious problem," he said at the function that was attended by BJP president Rajnath Singh, senior party leaders Jaswant Singh, Arun Shourie and Arun Jaitley, among others.

He said if the NDA comes to power, it will enact a legislation to make possession of Multi-purpose National Identity Cards (MNIC) mandatory as "security is our main consideration".
