Lucknow: In a bid to muster people's support ahead of the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections scheduled to be held early next year, Samajwadi Party would take out a rath yatra across the state from September 12 with the message to root out the ruling BSP government.
Party spokesperson Rajendra Chowdhury said, "The Samajwadi Kranti Rath Yatra will be taken out by party state president Akhilesh Yadav to root out corrupt BSP government in the state."
He said that besides the rath yatra, Akhilesh would also resort to cycle yatras across the state.
Chowdhury said, "Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav had taken out Kranti Yatra on September 14, 1987 across the state to unite backward classes and minorities."
He claimed that the people in the state were fed up with the present government and wanted an alternative.
