New Delhi: Packed with modern communication systems, the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) 'Ashwamedh Rath' (chariot) has started rolling on the Capital's streets to challenge the Congress.
The rath mounted with a victory flag, started rolling on the city streets Wednesday. It will cover all the 70 Assembly constituencies of the Capital. It is to be used by all party candidates for campaigning for the November 29 polls.
The chariot went to the Greater Kailash Assembly constituency on Thursday.
"It consists of all modern communication systems which would be used to highlight the failures of the Sheila Dikshit-led Congress government in the Capital. The BJP's promises to the people are also on it," said a BJP leader.
The chariot has a large cutout of the chief ministerial candidate V K Malhotra in front of it. It has a large screen on which video films prepared by the BJP on price-rise and terrorism would be screened. The campaign songs, based on filmy lyrics, would also be played.
"The chariot carries a hoarding with a slogan Ab waqt parivartan ka - Bhajapa ko Samarthan ka (it is the time for change, and supporting the BJP) and a comparative price list of essential commodities during the BJP (National Democratic Alliance government) and the present Congress regime," the BJP leader added.
