'Congress Sought To Do Vote Bank Politics In Hubballi Murder': PM Modi Slams Law And Order In Karnataka
"The Congress government is busy destroying Karnataka," Modi said while addressing an election rally in Uttara Kannada.

Expressing concern over the law and order situation in Karnataka, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday slammed the Congress government in the state and accused the party of doing “vote bank politics” in the Hubballi murder case.

During an election rally in Uttara Kannada, he accused the Congress party of neglecting public safety and prioritising political agendas over governance. This criticism came in light of the Hubballi murder case in which the daughter of Congress councilor Niranjan Hiremath was stabbed to death at a campus college. This incident has ignited widespread apprehension about safety in the state.

Hubballi Murder

“Before 2014, newspapers were full of headlines of bomb blasts. Now they have all stopped. But when the Congress comes to power, there is a bomb blast in Bengaluru. What is unfortunate is that some Congress leaders suspected it was a gas cylinder blast,” he said at a rally in the state.

During the rally, PM Modi pointed out how “In Hubballi, a murder took place in broad daylight on a college campus and Congress sought to do vote bank politics in this incident too. The murder of Neha is not an ordinary incident.” During his address, PM Modi also criticised the Congress party for spurning an invitation to the Ayodhya Ram Temple inauguration ceremony.

The Prime Minister also claimed that Congress was seeking the support of banned outfits like PFI. “Joining such anti-national forces like PFI is the track record of the Congress while our track record is to ban the outfit and arrest its leaders,” he said. The Prime Minister’s remarks came during the ongoing Lok Sabha election in Karnataka. Polling has already occurred in 14 parliamentary constituencies, with the remaining seats scheduled for voting on May 7, followed by vote counting on June 4. As the state braces for these upcoming electoral events, tensions run high over various political issues.
