Lokpal: Manmohan should go, says Yashwant Sinha
The ruling coalition failed to win constitutional status to the Lokpal in Parliament.

New Delhi: BJP leader Yashwant Sinha on Tuesday night demanded Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's resignation after the ruling coalition failed to win constitutional status to the Lokpal in Parliament.

"The prime minister has lost the right to be in office after this defeat," Sinha told after the Lok Sabha passed the Lokpal bill but lack of numbers tripped the treasury benches over another bill that sought to give the ombudsman constitutional backing.

The constitutional idea was first mooted in August by Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi.
