Earlier in the day, the Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi met Advani at the circuit house Ahemdabad for about half an hour.

Ahmedabad: Senior BJP leader LK Advani on Friday said that the rift within UPA was a cause for concern as it might worsen the 'policy paralysis' in the government.

"The internal rift among the UPA allies should be viewed in the context of present situation in the country, when there is a perception that this government is in a state of paralysis. How will this rift further deteriorate this paralysis should be a concern for all," Advani said, talking to reporters in Gandhinagar.

"We (India) are progressing in the 21st century very fast. But the sudden change in the pattern of progress is a matter of concern, and in this situation the rift between UPA allies is an issue that should make us worry," Advani said.

Advani was replying to questions about the current stand-off between Sharad Pawar-led NCP and Congress. The veteran BJP leader was here to attend meeting of the District Regional Development Committee of Gandhinagar, his constituency.
