Mari Selvaraj To Direct Dhruv Vikram-starrer Upcoming Sports Drama
Mari Selvaraj said in a statement that the film is going to be a sports drama, which will delve into the roots of Kabaddi.

Maamannan director Mari Selvaraj is set to work on a new project featuring Vikram’s son Dhruv Vikram. As per reports, rumours regarding the film were already making rounds, and now the filmmaker has officially announced the film through social media.

Mari Selvaraj and Dhruv Vikram are set to work together on a new untitled project. The director shared the news on his official Instagram handle in a March 12 post. Posting a photo of the crew of the film, the director wrote, “Starting my fifth film with a banger! Overwhelmed to be joining hands once again with @ranjithpa Anna and @neelamstudiosoffl. Excited to be working with @applausesocial and my good friend @aditianand.”

According to reports, the film is being produced by Pa Ranjith under his banner of Neelam Studios, along with Applause Entertainment. The film’s leads are finalised to be Dhruv Vikram and Premam fame Anupama Parameswaran. The rest of the cast is yet to be announced.

Mari Selvaraj said in a statement that the film is going to be a sports drama, which will delve into the roots of Kabaddi. Talking about Dhruv he stated that the young actor will provide “different perspectives” to the work. “It is with no doubt I say that this film will be an important milestone for all of us,” the director added.

Mari Selvaraj is known for directing films like Pariyerum Perumal, Karnan and his most notable work Maamannan. Maamannan was released last year in June and starred Vadivelu, Fahadh Faasil, Udhayanidhi Stalin and Keerthy Suresh in the leads. It was produced by Udhayanidhi Stalin under the banner of Red Giant Movies, while A R Rahman composed the music for the film.

The film’s lead Dhruv Vikram was last seen in the 2022 film Mahaan, made under the direction of Karthik Subbaraj. The film starred Vikram, Dhruv Vikram, Simran and Bobby Simha in notable roles. It was produced by S S Lalit Kumar, under the banner of Seven Screen Studio.
