New Delhi: Every year when the tech giant announces updated products, prices of its existing devices are reduced. With the release of the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus, older iPhones are available at discounted prices.
Discontinuing the plastic-bodied iPhone 5c, Apple has made its iPhone 5s (16 GB) free. Which basically requires you to have a two-year contract. The 32 GB variant, on the other hand, is available from $49 with contract. The iPhone 6 will be available from $99 and iPhone 6 Plus will sell for $199 onwards, again with a two-year contract.
Unlocked iPhone 5s is available at $450 for the 16 GB base model and $499 for the 32 GB variant. iPhone 6 will be available for $549 for 16 GB and $649 for the 64 GB variant. iPhone 6 Plus will be available at $649 for 16 GB and $749 for 64 GB model.
The company has also introduced an iPhone Upgrade Program in the US that allows users to get a new unlocked iPhone every year directly from Apple instead of the carrier.
The 24-month payment plan starts at $32/month and includes Apple Care+, which is the $99 warranty program covering the iPhone.
As Apple explains, “After 12 installments, you can get a new iPhone and start a new iPhone Upgrade Program. No more waiting for your carrier contract to end. Just trade in your current iPhone for a new one, and your new program begins.”
Users in the US have the option to buy the latest iPhone 6s via the iPhone Upgrade Program by making online reservations. One can also have the option to opt for a carrier of their choice.
