Bihar Groom, Who Disappeared On Wedding Night, Caught By Police 3 Days Later
Reportedly, the man had switched off his mobile phone for two days and went to Patna and Danapur.

Generally, after getting married, the bride and groom plan a honeymoon trip to get to know each other better. But in Muzaffarpur, Bihar, a groom ran away leaving the newlywed bride alone on her wedding night. This left his new bride and the entire family in distress. The family members lodged a missing report of the groom at the police station.

In the Shahbazpur village of Bihar, which comes under the jurisdiction of Ahiyapur Police Station. Aditya Shahi, son of Vishwajit Shahi, an employee of a Bhagalpur bank tied the nuptial knot to a woman from Bochahan. The wedding was organised with much pomp on February 4. Aditya Shahi reached the wedding venue with the procession to get married and later came back home to spend their wedding night together.

However, the young man disappeared on his wedding night leaving the bride alone. He ran away from home. This left the families in a panic situation and they went and lodged a missing complaint of the groom at the police station. Reportedly, he had switched off his mobile phone for two days and went to Patna and Danapur. However, on the third night, he switched on his phone which revealed his location to the police and he was taken into custody from Arrah station.

Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Bhanu Pratap Singh pinned down the groom’s location within 36 hours after the complaint was filed. While he did not reveal much, he shared that the groom confessed to leaving his home secretly. He also claimed to have withdrawn Rs 50,000 from a nearby ATM and took a bus to Patna.

From Patna, he left for Danapur by train and stayed at the station for one night. The next morning he came back to Patna by train. All this while, he had kept his phone switched off. He planned to go to Arrah and after boarding a train, he switched on his phone, and the police began to track his location. The Muzaffarpur police were waiting at the Arrah station for Aditya Shahi. As of yet, the main reason for his disappearance has not been revealed.
