Christopher Nolan has finally claimed his rightful place as the frontrunner at award shows, clinching his debut Oscar on Sunday night for his directorial masterpiece, “Oppenheimer.” Despite enjoying widespread critical acclaim throughout his illustrious career, the 53-year-old British visionary had long been snubbed by the Academy. Nominations came his way for directing “Dunkirk” in 2017, as well as for original screenplay for “Inception” in 2010 and “Memento” in 2001.
However, this time, it seemed that only Nolan possessed the power to triumph, overshadowing contenders such as Jonathan Glazer of “The Zone of Interest,” Yorgos Lanthimos of “Poor Things,” Martin Scorsese of “Killers of the Flower Moon,” and Justine Triet of “Anatomy of a Fall.” Indeed, Nolan’s directorial masterpiece, “Oppenheimer,” dominated the Oscars 2024 with finesse. The biopic, starring Cillian Murphy, walked away with seven Oscars at the 96th Academy Awards.
So, as the world celebrates the filmmaker, actors, and everyone involved, one man’s tribute to Nolan, laden with twists and wit that rival his films, emerged and quickly went viral.
“From the Inception of his career, the man has been making Interstellar films. However, every Oscar ceremony has been a Dark Knight for him, and probably led to Insomnia,” began Ramesh Srivats as he cleverly weaved puns using Nolan’s movie titles in an unexpected manner. He continued, “But the Man of Steel stuck to his Tenet and kept Following his dream. And finally won the award. It is Nolan who is adding The Prestige to this Memento.”

While Mr. Ramesh clarified, “Christopher Nolan didn’t direct Man of Steel. But wikipedia says he was the producer. So, er… might as well,” his post on ‘X’ was a treat for the sharp-minded, just like Nolan’s films, and it certainly showed!
Astounded, people in the comment section showered praise upon him, with one writing, “Aapne to Oscars 24 ka pura wikipedia hi likh diya.” Another marvelled at the effort, asking, “How much googling did u do to find and list down all his films a proper sentence? Wonderful indeed.”
