Social Media Cheers For Boss Who Encourages Employee To Work From Home Or ‘Just Chill'
A person shared a screenshot of a message from their boss, who asked the employee to WFH or just chill.

Amid the many horror stories about toxic workplaces and unsupportive bosses we hear on social media, one recent post on Threads has come as a refreshing breath of fresh air. A user shared their experience with a boss who genuinely prioritises employee well-being, leaving many others wishing for similar workplace dynamics. The employee, who has a weak immune system and frequently falls ill, recounted how their boss consistently steps up to provide protection and health options. The screenshot of a message from the boss, showed that he notified the team that several staff members were under the weather and encouraged the sick employee to work from home or “just chill” for the day.

In the caption, the user wrote, “This is a text from my boss. My boss knows I’m immunocompromised. My boss protects me and allows reasonable accommodations to keep me healthy. We need more bosses like my boss. I absolutely love my boss and team and I’m so grateful.”

In the screenshot, the boss wrote, “Hey, want to make sure you are aware of few of us have a cold. If you want to work from home today, I support that or just chill if you can? Your call 100%.” The individual replied, “Thank you so much for letting me know. I wasn’t planning on coming in until this afternoon but think I’ll avoid it all together. We can video chat for the team meeting? I hope everyone feels better soon.”

Reacting to the post, a user wrote, “I wish my boss was your boss. I too am immunosuppressive, due to needing specialist medication to control my asthma. It works but I sometimes fall ill with colds/flu and he says he supports me but stabs me in the back.”

Another shared, “See, we don’t hate all bosses. That kind is awesome.”

“Awww boss bae,” a comment read.

Another wrote, “That boss = keeper.”

An individual shared, “This is an awesome boss.”

One more user added, “Should shout them out. That’s rare for real.”

Since the post was shared on Threads, it has garnered over 1,000 likes.
