A 70-year-old former stunt woman was amazed when she received a reply on her job application after 48 years. Tizi Hodson, 70, from Gedney Hill in Lincolnshire, applied for her job as a motorcycle stunt rider in January 1976. It was her dream job but was disappointed after she didn’t receive a reply. The woman wondered about the absence of the reply for 48 years before a post from Staines Post Office came. She opened the post to discover her original letter applying for a job as a motorcycle stunt rider, sent in January 1976, had been stuck behind a post office drawer all these years. What amazed her was that the post office tracked her after 48 years even after changing her dress numerous times.

According to a BBC report, Tizi Hodson was a stuntwoman who applied for a job in 1976. The Staines Post Office returned the letter after 48 years. At the top of the letter is a handwritten note that reads: “Late delivery by Staines Post Office. Found behind a draw. Only about 50 years late.” Despite getting lost in the post, this setback did not hamper her daredevil career as she found a job that took her all over the world. She performed many bike stunts in her life and earned fame. She changed houses and countries numerous times.

Describing the letter being returned as “amazing”, Ms Hodson said: “I always wondered why I never heard back about the job. Now I know why.” Tizzy doesn’t know who returned the letter or how it even found its way to her. “How they found me when I’ve moved house 50-odd times, and even moved countries four or five times, is a mystery,” she added.

While talking to BBC, Tizzy said that she still remembers that she was typing this letter with a typewriter in her London home. In the meantime, she went to Africa and worked as a snake handler. She took pilot training, flew a plane and learned horse riding. She showed that letter and said that while writing it, she was very careful not to reveal her age or gender in the letter so that her job was not at risk. She is very happy to see that letter again after so many years.
