What would you do if you found that a residential home or some other building had a secret opening to catacombs and crypts from the old times and you have been unknowingly staying beneath them all the time? It can send a shiver down your spine for sure just thinking about it but two young men have had a similar experience where they have discovered a whole new world beneath their converted chapel renovation.
There used to be a small hole on one of the floorboards and a chilling gust of air would often pass through this hole during the winter. At some point, curiosity got the better of these young men as stated by them in a social media post. They dug up the floor to finally discover the source of the breeze beneath it. They were not prepared for what was to come next. They found a flight of stairs leading down to an underground cavern of sorts.
All this time, they had been living above a perfectly hidden underground chamber. Exploring more of the chamber and moving deep into the darkness using torches, as seen in the video, they soon stumbled upon the long-lost crypt of the chapel, which was full of coffins and alcoves. This discovery may have rattled the faint-hearted but they continued their adventurous endeavour further and kept walking on until they came to an opening. The shaft opened into the deep woodlands adjoining the area, with wild animals roaming about.
The men joked about what they should do with the underground chamber and whether it should be converted into a wine cellar. The video got some hilarious replies with users commenting that they had discovered the resting place of vampires and others asking them to fill it with beans. It is to be noted here that no mention of the location of the old chapel has been provided in the video going viral and its authenticity is not verified by News18.
